Giovanni Gabrieli’s brilliant Canzon III à 6 opens the program with the magnificent sonorities of Renaissance Venice, followed by Mozart’s sparkling overture to Così fan tutte. Haydn’s spirited Symphony No. 61 leads into Dvořák’s beloved Symphony No. 9, “From the New World,” a sweeping musical journey that blends European tradition with the sounds and spirit of America.
