Embark on a musical adventure filled with color, imagination, and storytelling. Dvořák’s exuberant Carnival Overture bursts with festive energy, while Liszt’s Les Préludes explores life’s triumphs, struggles, and aspirations through sweeping melodies and dramatic orchestral textures. Contemporary composer Anthony Lei’s In Other News offers a fresh and engaging perspective, bringing a modern voice to the program and inviting listeners to reflect on the world around them. The evening concludes with Rimsky-Korsakov’s dazzling Scheherazade, where soaring melodies and brilliant orchestration bring the tales of One Thousand and One Nights vividly to life.
